Have Louisiana's US legislative representatives push for the development of an EPA "National Center for Coastal/Estuary Management & Restoration" based around LSU and the state's other public and private universities. Extensive infrastructure and isolated research programs already exist that could be better coordinated through the Center. Result: dramatically increased research funding, world prominence, increase of exceptional applicants to state universities, keep our best here to study. Good reason to pursue: LSU's Chancellor O'Keefe (his record in such matters speaks for itself).
